What is a good way to get motivated, when you have severe depression, and other Mh problems? |
I was just hoping I could find some tips on getting motivated to do household chores, exercise, personal hygiene and etc! I am struggling on a day to day basis, just to achieve minor goals!I am in counseling, and on medication, however, nothing seems to be helping me? I am about to give up. Help?? Hi. Sorry to hear what you are going through as I am going through similiar. I wont waste your time with trivial things because thats just not gonna help you, I'm sure you have tried the simple things. Talking it out with people is the easiest solution though. And making sure you have stuff to do, if you dont have a lot of friends or what not just getting out the the grocery store or getting yourself involved in a hobby that becomes your most important thing. No matter what, you have to find something to help you get busy. Even if it is the internet and meeting people on it, try new chats, etc. Palace software has a great 2-d graphical chat program that helped me at times. I hope you find this helpful. I am far from where I need to be with my MH so I am not sure my advice is the right advice, but it is helping me a little. Rest more. Sleep more. Then you would recover. I find the the best way to get motivated is to just do whatever I need to get done without thinking about it. Sometimes if I am depressed I just sit in bed and think about all the things I need to do and get overwhelmed. If you just forge ahead and do something then it makes the next thing seem easier. Just get moving and think about it later. http://emotionalhealth.everydayhealth.co... just wanted you to know you are not alone. I'm going through the same thing. I have no motivation to do anything and i'm just going to work and trying to get through the day. I am in therapy and i'm on my third antidepressant. I've been on this one 3 weeks and no change. I'm hoping it will kick in soon as they say it tkes 4 to 6 weeks. I don't know how long you have been on yours but try to give it time. I'm hoping if i don't give up some type of hope will appear. Good luck to you and don't give up. you are on the wrong medication, go see a PHd Psychiatrist. i think it would be a bad idea to get more sleep. i went through about the same thing a few years ago. all i wanted to do is sleep, BAD IDEA. the best thing to do is, get your butt off the couch and do something to get your mind off your problems. do you work?, if you dont, get a job. i am 59 years old and i work two jobs. i leave at 8:00a.m. and get home at 9:30 at night. and i feel great.but i have to tell you i am on "paxell" it works great for me. ask your doctor about it. good luck to you, hang in there, love,susyq47 |
