WithOUT taking anti-depressants, what are some ways to help get rid of depression? Sometimes stress can cause depression. Eating healthy, regulare exercise, relaxation techniques, getting regular sleep and just taking really good care of yourself can help improve your mood. However, if your depression is severe or long term it's best to seek the advice of a therapist or psychologist. You can tell them you are against medication and request behavioral modification instead. My Dr. says it releases endorphins, which is pretty much what anti-depressants do I think. Deep breathing Yoga. Cardio exercises. Also vitamin B6 (one supplement in addition to your multivitamin) is a known antidepressant. Meditation is the best solution. Good habits and good decisions will lead to success. Success minimises depression. Fear of all kinds increases depression. So root out fear from your mind. Don't give space for criticism to anybody, that too enhances depression.
