A person in what Professional line of work is most likely to suffer from depression?

Statisticaly it is a dentist that commits suicide the most often. The reason is, honestly, this is from psych class, because they get so bored. Source(s): psychological stats
I would think it would be working at a morgue where you are around dead bodies when you go to work. that or being a doctor in the E.R.. seeing people screaming and crap all the time isnt fun.
Well I know stock exchange floor runners are the most likely people to have a heart atack while working than anyone else in the world...
I understood it was the police since they tend to see the worst in everyone. I believe I read that they have a high suicide rate.

Any profession or job, in which the person is unhappy. Major Depression is a mental illness. It is a chemical imbalance. It is not caused from not liking your job. There are episodes of depression that can be provoked by situational episodes. Genetics and upbringing usually are the best indicators of who is most likely going to have "Major Depression".
