I haven't had any real problems in life, so why do I suffer from depression?

I have had depression for about 4 years and have been on Fluoxetine and Mirtazapine, nothing seems to help. Has anyone else been on these meds and noticed a difference? Should I ask my Doc for a different Anti depressant?

If you are not feeling better after 4 years maybe you are on the wrongs meds. However, nothing is a miricle cure and you have to want to get better and make some effort yourself xxxx
Your ill, see your doctor
some people are depressive, but the first line of your question is interesting, i would also suffer from mild depression but only when every thing is going smooth, go and buy a house get mortgaged to the hilt and you haven't time to be depressed you've got work hard to make ends meet, basically find something to fully occupy your mind
Maybe some Wellbutrin would work...
in some cases, it is hereditary...find out if any family members ever had any type of mental or emotional illnesses...
i really dont think tablets are the answer here.but i cant really comment, sorry
Are you lacking Seratonin? A chemical made in the brain I believe
