Because of my anemia I become very depressed, how or what can I do to reduce my depression? Bless your heart - this sounds like a rough situation. Have you mentioned this to your doctor? I hate to say that it's good that you know what's causing your depression but it kind of is. Often people don't know, which can make it harder to treat. Beyond whatever the doctor suggests, I recommend: - Cognitive therapy. See "The Feeling Good Handbook" by David Burns. - A good, healthy diet and however much exercise you can fit in. Walking is good if nothing else seems viable. - Reducing your stress levels. - Getting outside in the fresh air and sunshine to whatever extent you can if the weather's lousy where you are. Sometimes people get seasonal depression due to reduced daylight hours, which can exacerbate problems they're already having. - "Indulge" in some activities and small luxuries you really enjoy, be it a hobby or a particular type of soap. - If you find that talking to other people reduces your depression, make time to catch up with family and friends frequently. Best of luck to you - i would say treat the anemia and take some iron Try taking a multi-vitamin daily and it will help you become healthier. l'm also depressed from time to time and l know the feeling. The best is having a positive outlook in life (quite difficult at the start). Most of the things we think of is just based on "our own outlook". We fail to see the real picture and end up feeling isolated and hopeless. We have to get out of that box that imprisons us. Always think, " if others can, so can l". lf other people became successful in life, l can also do it to my own life. Everything is possible. Good luck to you. God bless. :) |
