I had a merina coil inserted 1 year ago and seem to be experiencing what I think is depression? Any thoughts?

I seem to get sad and my husband and children can't do anything right. I cannot be bothered doing anything even when I see things to be done around me. I am worried that the coil is affecting my moods. I had it inserted to control my heavy bleeding. Any answers??

I also have Merina. I am pretty sure that Levonorgestrel is the only hormone in the device. . This hormone does not typically cause depression. If you just recently (by recent i mean the past two years) had a child, this may be postpartum depression you're experiencing. I too when through this. Go the your doctor for some advice and further testing. Its totally worth it. Source(s): Nurse Technician
Hi there ,

Sorry too hear your not feeling your best.

I think you should go and get it checked out by your doctor.
I found the following website which might help you. Bottom line , get it sorted before it gets worse.
