If someone has a fear of death or someone dying is this a mental condition or a sign of depression? |
If someone has a fear of death or someone dying is this a mental condition or a sign of depression? anxiety disorder Mike RN no, its a sign of the inevitable. depression is long term stress. so you have to be stressed when thinking about it and you have to be thinking about it alot I don't think it's a sign of depression, I think it's boredom, or just playing mind games with yourself, sometimes we all do this. But, if you feel you may be depressed, then, you really need to look into it. Unless the fear is unreasonably intense and interferes with daily activities, I would say that this is neither a mental condition nor depression. It's relatively human to have some fear of death or dying, because it's an unknown experience. Well, it depends on the intensity. It's normal to fear death or losing someone, it's a natural agency of human emotion. We don't know what death entails: Is there an afterlife? Will I matter after death? Will anyone care? Those are frightening questions. However, if one becomes so obsessed with the idea of dying, you could develop a delusional paranoia...and that can be harmful. This person should seek some help if they can't go a single day with enjoying life, but rather live in constant fear over the idea of death. I hope this helps. A fear of death or of someone dying could be associated with several mental disorders, but if there is a valid cause for concern then no, also sometimes fearing death or the death of another is a completly natural "emotion" for lack of a better word. If it is a persistant occurance then it may be a symptom of a mental disease. First in that case we have reason to be depressed, Hay everyone including YOU dies, but thanks be to Jesus that if we will but be-live in Him we will have everlasting life [John 3:16] if we meet the conditions which it is offered for example John 14:15, So cheer up, but if you do not intend to live for Christ and put Him first, seek Him and He promises you WILL find Him, then both of you should be depressed, because Jesus bought You time but you do not know when it is up, God bless, questions wgr88@yahoo.com Free Bible lessons www.itiswritten.com |
