Just had a surgery happen to me, i had a toe amputated. now i'm depressed, what can i do to fix my depression? |
here's how it happened, found out i had toe ulcers last month, started getting medical help for both toes, one's healed up properly, had to have half the big toe amputated. now i'm depressed, feels like i'm missing a huge part of me. other thing is i'm physically disabled, therefore, i can't even feel my legs/feet but it still feels like something is missing. i can't even look at the bandage without starting to cry like a 2 year old. So other than medical proffessional help and talking to family and friends about this, what can i do do try and help myself get over this problem before i completely go insane and drive myself to a heart attack with this ****. This has cause major psychological damage to me, i can't even go out because i feel ppl won't look at me the same. This sucks and really hurts. I think your feelings are totally normal. You have had a loss and you are trying to cope with it. I was thinking that maybe you could look around for a support group -- either for amputees or for people who are disabled in the same way as you -- because there are probably a lot of people who feel the exact same way. I'm sorry this happened, and I hope you feel better soon.
