I am looking at going to a Dr. to be diagonsed with dep. can I lose my nursing carrer over haveing depression?


I'm believe that I need to go to a Doctor to see if I have depression. However I am and nurse and don't want to lose my carrrer by being diagnosed and treated for having depression. I need to know if this is a possibly so that I know if that is a risk I'm willing to take.

You need to take care of your mental health in order to take care of the rest of your life. There is no reason why you should lose your job/career as a nurse over being treated for depression. The only way you can actually lose your job from this is if it causes your work to be lacking---sub par. If you are able to maintain a high work quality your employer will have no reason to fire you.
no. if you do, then it's grounds for suing the employer for discrimination. you need to worry about getting yourself better, so you can help your patients. nursing is a great career, and not everyone has the heart for it. got see the doctor, and see if you just need to talk to someone, or if you need medication. your career is very emotional, so it might just help to talk. get the help that you need.
No they can't fire you for that reason, honestly no one would know because it would be patient confidentiality anyhow, so don't worry.

I think your nursing career may be in jeopardy due to your inability to spell and ask coherent questions how on earth do you chart?
