I would think they probably could. I my 5 year old was showing signs of depression I would take them to the doctor.

Absolutely, depression can happen to almost anybody. Maybe he's eating too many sweets and that includes cereal, which consists of mainy sugar. Try eggs and bacon in the morning, skip the toast. Good Luck.

Yes, esteem issues can happen at any age, Just a little more harder to diagnose in kid's, hard to tell a depressed kid from a stroppy one trying to get their own way.
