How do I heal my depression?

Back when i was a child, my dad and mom were home with my sister and brother. I was around 5 years old that time. Now im 19 and things changed in my life. When i turned 13 years, I started to get depressed. At age 17 my father got a job in some international company. My mom is now living another country becuase her father is sick. My brother is married. I live with my sister, but shes annoying as hell.

Back when i was young it was soo much fun with my family. Now i FEEL like my family teared apart from me. Im so depressed. I work at a pharmacy to earn money and thought things would cool down a bit, but nothing changed.

Now i get more boredom, nothing is fun for me. I dont want to kill my self cuz in Islam its unacceptable. I dont pray alot, but im going to work on that. Hopefully that will help. If u guys have any advice. It will probably be helpful. Thanks.

Without sounding disrespectful, its hard to point out the obvious which is you clearly need to speak with a qualified counselor or therapist to help you guide yourself out of this mental abyss. If the only reason that you are not killing yourself as you say is because of a religious belief then I say call someone quick and get some help. Above all you should be at least taking an anti depressant. Some type of talk therapy would also benefit you as well. Hey look we all stumble and fall from time to time, its how you then go forward from those spills that give you the means and tools necessary to pick yourself up again. Aside from the medicine and doctors you need, move you body every day. Run walk, bike swim, do any of it but do it every day and for at least 35-40 minutes. I promise that if you do nothing at all except that you will feel amazingly better. Oh and throw in some liquid fish oil to your diet every day. Get a bottle of Carlson's cod liver oil(lemon flavor) keep it in your fridge and take a tablespoon every day........hope some helps

Someone said most people are as happy as they choose to be. Another said, It's not what happens to us, but how we react to what happens to us that determines how happy or sad we are. These things may be true.

I think gratitude is the attitude. Look around and find things you do have to be grateful for, like the ability to work, be around people you can help, and find a way to help someone else; this will get your mind off of yourself and make you feel good by doing something constructive.

Hold your head up, and put a smile on your face, and make people around you feel like you're glad to see them, and they'll return the attitude. You don't see many lonesome puppies - they wag their tails and act joyful, and instantly make friends - If you can't be around your family, you do have an extended family where you work and live and in your church. Keep your chin up - you'll have to smile!
seek some professional therapy to help you....do not kill yourself, your life is precious and at 19 you have so much more to learn and living to do...you need help and guidance to help you deal with all you have been thru and help you in the future...do not use this website as your therapy...talking to a trained professional about your individual situation will be extremely helpful to you...you were smart enough to ask for help, now go talk to the right people....
Physically, excercise, proper sleep and proper nutrition can have a lot to do with depression...if you eat a lot of processed foods, try eating more simple things...yogurt, fruit, nuts, juices. Martial arts are good--focuses your thoughts on physical rituals. Aikido is an excellent and potentially strenuous art. Tai Chi is more meditative, as is yoga (which is not a martial art). Volunteering your time for a worthwhile cause creates feelings of self worth and makes new friendships and connection, to counteract the tendancy in depression to isolate. And yes, religion is a solace--but part of that is from being involved in a community which practices its faith, and makes the world a better place through living that faith. Try to see the good in your sister--sometimes the things that other people do that bug us the most are things we don't like about ourselves...I wish you hope. Death comes to us all eventually, no need to hurry. Life is an interesting, if painful, gift. You're at a tough age--it does get easier, I swear. Good luck.
Hi Omer

This is the time for you to learn about yourself on your own. There is a whole world out there and it's waiting for you decide what you want to do in life. You can do anyting you want, but first you must decide what you want. This is what life is about "always changing and evolving".

You decide how you feel everyday. You give it a definition. You say this is good or bad. Only you are defining what you see. From what I read here I define your life currently as an oppertunity to figure out what you want in life and make a huge impact on peoples lives. See yourself as a strong and persuasive man and you will be.

"What you think about (positive or negative) is what you will attract in life". That is the most important statement Ive learned in my time here

"To hell with circumstances. I create opportunities." Bruce Lee

Continue your journey because you're just getting started.
