Is respirdal good to take for depression if i get sick from antidepressents? |
what are the benefits? bad parts? From my personal experience, I would say no it is not a good drug to take if you get sick from anti-depressants. I took many anti-depressants in the treatment of chronic depression, not one of those medications made me sick. I was prescribed respirdal because the anti-depressants were causing too much weight gain. I actually became sick off of the drug, so I would say if you get sick on the anti-depressants, then you will probably get much sicker on the respirdal. If the doctors misdiagnose you and you take the medication, it can also cause severe side effects such as hallucinations, and worsen any condtion you may currently have. I do not recommend the medication. Risperdal is an anti-psychotic medication http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/risper... Have you solely been diagnosed with depression? It all depends on the severity of your depression. I suggest you consult your Psychiatrist and talk to him/her about the side effects of any anti-depressants that you may have tried in the past. Have you tried more than one b/c there are several. All psychotropic medications can cause side-effects and I don't know what you mean by "sick".... "Sick" can imply many different things. There are pros and cons to every medication and it's really hard to generalize what the benefits and bad parts are since everybody is different- what might work for you can be a totally bad effect for someone else. Good luck & talk to a qualified psychiatrist for suggestion about your specific condition. It's almost impossible to recommend a drug without knowing extensive history and such...
