What do i do about being treated for depression? |
i'm pretty sure im depressed. or having very low moods. i was dumped 6months ago, and there was alot of emotion and many confusing things to go with it. recently i heard some bad news about the ex having a new gf. i feel so crap. do i talk to my GP about this? i feel kind of stupid to say im depressed, as i dont feel like killing myself or anything but i cant stop crying and i really do feel low. is this serious enough to bother the gp with? talk to your famly doctor first. then follow his/her advice. he/she may want you to see a therapist for a little while to get you past this depression. also he/she may want to put on a anti-depressant for a short time period. break ups are very hard to handle and you go through all the stages that you would go through as if someone has died ,as in deed something has. a relationship. it just takes some time too. please seek some help soon so that this doen't wind up taking control of your life. Get to your doctor, Depression takes all forms your doctor can help you. I have been there myself. i think that you shouldn't let the asshole get you down. be happy and if you can then go to clubs, feel sexy, hang out with friends, find someone new. spend some time somewhere else. i know that you must feel like you dont have the energy to do this **** but all it takes is a little push or a short call to a friend. go and hang out. when you started to go out with this asshole, you didn't actually expect it to last till you died did you? he's moved on so should you. plus dating is just steps people take till they find "the one" for themselves. you just went up a step! be happy and move on girl! you deserve more than him! TIME HEALS ALL yep your depressed, get over the stigma, I'm on ssdi i get payed to be depressed lol, see doc asap, and get a good ssri med, like Prozac, worked for me for 20 years, now I'm on a new one. It is serious enough to see your doctor about especially if you continue to feel low and this affects your ability to function as you normally would like at work or in your relationships. You don't have to be suicidal to be depressed and not each period of low moods is depression in the clinical sense. You're not going to know for sure until you see your doctor. It might also help to talk to someone such as the Samaritans The best thing to do about it is to talk to someone you trust very much. Although it may sound cliche it is what worked for me, i talked to my best friend that ive known for 12 years, he was really understanding and told me to join a club or group, and now im on the mend! You owe it to yourself to find help. Just connect with someone you trust. |
