Why does depression hit when times are so good? |
It's kind of funny, today was a great day, but I feel so depressed. Why is it that life can be so good, but people are still depressed? I'm home from school, making good money, gf is okay (a little trouble, but nothing new), great friends, etc. I just don't get it. I feel so empty. I know I'm not alone; depression (or at least mild cases like mine) hit everyone. I know peaks come with troughs, but I just don't get it. Someone once said that depression is suppressed anger. While things may be pretty okay right now, ask yourself what may be holding you down? Sometimes it's not the things themselves so much as how afraid we might be of the intensity of the anger. Think it over. If this is what's happening, I hope a spotlight shines right on whatever it is that's making you feel so empty inside. God Bless! To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven. A time to be happy, a time to be sad, a time to love a time to hate. If you feel depression even when times are good, then chances are you don't just have a "mild case". It is normal to feel down and depressed when things are going bad.. but when all is good, that is not normal. Talk to your Dr and see if you could have a chemical inbalance and need medication or you may need to talk to a counselor to try to figure out what is making you feel down. Good luck and cheer up, R I have had Bi-Polar disorder for several years, depression comes natural to me! Microwaves; other electrical and magnetic fields, phthalates (www.mercola.com), organochlorines, fluoride, heavy metal and other toxicities, and food additives: all have been blamed. See depression at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris... on page 2. Life is more than just material and social well-being. What is lost is our sense of mystery and awe of the universe. We have lost our sense of community and replaced it with a money driven, ego driven, multicultural, impersonal, godless, soulless, and politically correct morass. Thank God for family, good friends, faith, and the kinship of like-minded souls. Your brain is deficient in some chemicals that it needs for emotional stability. So having a good day etc means nothing if the brain isn't getting it needs. Depression is different to being sad as you have described you can be having a great time but still feel a great emptiness inside. See a doctor and get a referral to a specialist. Because your life should be happy now it's a shame you aren't happy so get out there and seek help. Good luck. |
