What "drugs" did they use in ancient rome and Greece to treat depression?

I heard opium was used to treat depression and other ailments does anyone have any insight to this and can cite it? I looked on wikipedia but it dosn't say much about the treatment of depression through opium.

I don't know about physician-"prescribed" drug treatment, but they had wines back then too so I bet some people self-medicated with alchohol the same as some do nowadays.
Saint John's Wort has been used for 2400 years.
Valerian has been used as a nerve tonic for over 1000 years
Opium...
Some say the life expectancy in ancient Rome was 25 years. Would you even live long enough to be depressed? I guess a short life could be depressing, lol
