No medications have helped my depression?

I've been on soooo many different medications for my depression and NONE of them have worked. It's been 3 years now and I'm starting to think that medication simply doesn't help anything. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a reason?

depression medicine didnt work for me, but my adhd meds did. they put me on adhd meds and they worked for adhd. a month later they put me on depression meds, and they either made me worse, or i was just getting worse and they didnt help at all. they put me on lamictal. lamictal is a medicine for epilepsy/ bipolar. it could be possible that you have bipolar, its just that you could be depressed and then have other times when your really happy. if you have been diagnosed with depression and adhd then its even more likely that you have bipolar since depression meds dont work and some of the signs of adhd are the same as bipolar. look into the possibility of bipolar, ask your doctor or look it up online. ifyou do have bipolar, the meds may save your life depending on how bad your depression is. i've been there and i know what its like to feel that way, and you shouldn't have to. look into it please! it may help alot! good luck, i hope everything works out
also even if you do find medication that helps, you should be in therapy, medicine doesn't make everything better, you need to work through things with someone, meds help with the brain not working properly, but that may not be all thats causing your depression, im in therapy and dont have a choice in it, and even though i dont talk about much, alittle at a time does actually help, i didnt talk to anyone about anything forever, and now ive been seeing a therapist weekly since december. i dont talk much to her about anything, but sometimes afew things are disscussed, and it surprises me that it actually does help, so there are also things like talking to someone who can help and maybe changing somethings in your life. good luck, and tell me how it all works out.

it happened 2 to me and u build an immunity to the medication
Many times medication alone does not do the trick, they are not a cure, just an aid. You should be seeing a therapist along with the meds. Also, you have to take the meds exactly as they have been prescribed for you or they will not work.
I have tried and nothing works. Only medication trust God
I had to switch doctors to actually get the right mix of meds that worked for me --- not all doctors are made equal, changing yours may actually be the key to finding the right mix

along with see a doc, a therapist is helpful - they go deeper, than a doctors time will allow

good luck
It would seem that you are under the supersion of a health practitioner. If you are physically in good shape, take up exercise. Physical exercise is always good for those who are depressed. I also found breathing exercise (Pranayam) to be good. I am sure you can find enough info about exercises on line.
Both my dad and mother have depression medication. I simply don't think medication is the cure. I think just do things that make you happy! If your depression is because of stress take some time to yourself and let your problems be taken care of by a family member. Take a day each month to relax and be by yourself! Take vacations and do your best to enjoy life! See a therapist if you really need to. Talking about it really helps.
