Depression symptom?

I've had depression for 2 years now, and i'm only 18. I've seen a psychiatrist and she gave me a bunch of pills that don't seem to do anything. I can't take the ssri's because i had some bizzare reaction to zoloft, so she put me on something called zyprexa. but that didn't do a thing. so now im on welbutrin xl, and some new drug called invega. and like i feel barely functional. I've been having SERIOUS trouble concentrating on anything. like i sit to watch a movie, and i can't pay attention to a single thing. Same thing when i read a book. I don't think i have ADD, because i never had this problem until a few months ago. I don't even really feel depressed anymore most the time, i just feel empty. like my mind seems blank most the time. do you think it could be the new drugs?

Sorry to hear about your problems. The drugs could be making you feel taht way - you should discuss it with your doctor. In addition to meds (or if your doctor agrees, in replacement of meds) why not try Cognitive Behavioural Therapy 鈥?it鈥檚 proven very effective for a lot of people suffering from depression. You have to stick with it (and put in a bit of effort) but you should soon see results.

You can speak to your doctor about taking a course, or you can take a course for free online at: http://www.livinglifetothefull.com/elear... It has been funded by NHS Scotland and has had great results thus far. (A 鈥榩rettier鈥?version of this type of programme can be bought at www.thewellnessshop.co.uk.) In addition, the best book is Dr Robert Burns, The Feeling Good Handbook (which teaches CBT). It is brilliant and used by many psychologists.

I hope you start feeling better really soon. The best of luck to you.
Just go with counseling

Take cCymvalta , Is a very good anti depressive , it really low your depression try it.
the correct name is CYMBALTA and yes it helps, as far as for concentration goes. Focalin is what helps people with that problem. You really need to see a therapist and get monthly counseling, and try to wean your-self from pills.
do you have trouble sleeping?trouble getting up?do you have mood swings? i've been living with depression for almost 20 years. you have to let ur dr. know what kind of symtoms you're having so that they can give you the right medication; if that is what you need. i tried 4 before i noticed a "good" change. remember...ALL medication have some type of side effect.
Hi:

Finding the right medication or combination of medications are different for everyone and honestly it is all trial and error. There is not 1 receipe of medications that will work on all.

See your doc and let him know what is happening. It could be something as simple as changing a dose or removing/adding a new med. There is honestly just no answer to that.

But I can encourage you for therapy, keep all your appointments, always call with any changes in thoughts or feelings or reactions to medications and to always take your meds when you are supposed to.

I hope this helps and dont forget to call your doc please.

Be safe and be well
