Natural remedies for depression and anxiety? |
I am taking Lamictal, but am not feeling much relief. I want to know if anyone can tell me about vitamins, supplements, foods, exercises, anything that helps. Please tell me what works for you. A couple of things. One is join a peer counselling organisation, such as co-counselling, which teaches you how to empty out your unhappiness and also teaches you how to be a counsellor to other people who want to "clear out their attic", so to speak. This has been very helpful to me. People are not naturally depressed and anxious, events make them so! Another thing you could do, is some voluntary work, (City Hall could probably point you in the right direction for that) so that you don't have so much time for brooding on your sorrows (which I know are very real) Feeling compassion for other people can help us with being compassionate towards ourselves, and anyone who is depressed needs to learn to be kind and compassionate to themselves and stop criticising themselves. Whatever you may feel, you HAVE done the best you could in the circumstances, so be tender with yourself. I send you a big hug. Go well. Source(s): http://www.rc.org Spend time with pets/animals. But you should also let your doctor know that your meds aren't working. exercise helps with depression because when your heart starts to pump hard it creates endorphines that naturally fight off depression. you should go jogging for a half hour a day spend time with your family ... try and observe what a year old kid does and notice the curiosity when they do things .. see the some birds in a park .. how they fly and cater to their little ones .. and so on. smile =] watch a comedy film, thats a good way hehe or go do some excersize or punch something haha fresh air and family support around you. for my anxiety i use st johns wort its amazing..within half hour of takin it i can feel the effects...its all natural btw |
