Will not getting enough sleep bring on depression?

Yes. because of the lack of sleep your mood tends to swing low. Lack of sleep for long periods of time can bring about depression.
It could be the other way around, depression can make ya not sleep enough. And Stress can make you not sleep well too.

Yes.
my experience
no but depression causes you to not get a restful sleep. i find when im lying in bed my mind starts spinning about everything so i turn on my radio and either listen to my favourite music or to a talk show and before i realize it, im drifting off to sleep . it helps take your mind off of negative things. if you think you may have depression, you make an appointment to see a doctor, this isnt something you can fix on your own.
if you are prone to depression then I would say yep
