Need advice on getting out of a depression? |
I am 19 years old and have suferred from depression since i was about 14. I went through a severe postpartum depression a year and a half ago and now i am 4 months pregnant again so i want to get strong before i have this baby. I do not want to go on medication so i am looking for advise on other methods. Also therapists have not worked in the past. Depression is a serious mental health issue. Since you are not looking for medications or therapy the best adcice that I can give is to look into some self help books. The more structured activities you have in your life, the better. Mood increases when you are active and mindful in your everyday life. Are you a social person? Do you get out much? If you don't you need to force yourself into doing things. Since you are a young mom, how about joining a local MOPS group and meet other young moms for support. Please do not underestimate the struggle with depression. It's a serious issue and you need to identify things in your everyday life that brings you meaning and joy. Therapy does not work if you are not into it or if you lack the connection to the therapist. Maybe trying it again might help. Good luck Kellie Source(s): Sister to a woman who struggled with postpartum (severe). In the first place, what caused you so much depression? Unless you know the cause, the therapists will find it difficult to treat it. Take Rescue Remedy - mother tincture - 2 drops on your tongue 3 times a day for about a month and let me know how you feel. Rescue Remedy is a Bach Flower Essence, and is very very safe, mild and has no side effects. It works on the mind to balance it so dont worry, it is not an antidepressant. well u can talk to me if u need a friend dogmicjoe@yahoo.com. try walking. talk to me i can help u alot Hi, try having a look at the Self Help page on the site listed in the sources box below for some ideas on how you can help yourself naturally. good luck! http://www.self-help-mental-health-depre... |
