I think you are under estimating the effect. This whole thing is affecting the world.
Of course it causes/aggravates depression in us as a nation. The reality is that we are in a dangerous war and we are being killed by the thousands and Iraqi civilians at the rate of about 600,000 so far with one in twelve being children under the age of five. We have been affected as a nation and as human beings while we lose young men and women and live under the threat of another terrorist attack. More antidepressants are being prescribed now than ever before and more people are seeking help through psychiatry and psychology.
