Do you suffer with depression(some questions for you)...?

if so can you answer these questions (just interested to know)
if so
* do you recieve help?
* who do you get it from?
* how often do you see them?
* do you feel it's enough?

thanks. my answer is

yes i suffer with depression. i recieve "help" from a counsellor, my doctor and am awaiting a psychiatrist appointment next week. I see the counsellor weekly however its short term, is currently off for summer, i see my doctor for 15 mins weekly at the moment but sometimes i don't see her.
I dont think it's enough because it takes time to trust people with your problems and to feel comfortable with them so spending 15 mins a week with a doctor or 1 hour with a counsellor doesnt seem enough to help sometimes.

I suffer from depression and dissociation.

I get help from my gp, cpn and psychiatrist.
I see my gp when things get bad, my cpn once a week and psychiatrist when needed or every 3 months. When I'm not so bad it seems enough, otherwise no especially with my psychiatrist.

Hi, i see my doctor once a month for my depression, i am now on the 2nd different antidepressent tablets, the first lot did not work.
I feel very lucky as i have a new doctor who is wonderful.
And she always listens and makes me fell a bit better about myself, and never judges me.
ye i have depression, i kind of get help but not the right help, i see them once a week for about 2 hrs, councelling just doesnt seem long enough everything seems to get rushed, by the time you get used to your councellor it over, i cant seem to get over a bad day very well, it seems to get worse and harder to get through
Counselling should be long term - that way you can get to trust the person you talk to. It does take time to be able to open up to them about what is really going on in your life. But counsellors and psychiatrists seem to work in one hour blocks. i think longer than that in one session would be a bit overfacing for most people. But over months it should be enough to be able to use the time productively. It can also help if you have a friend to talk to as well. That way you can figure out a lot before your sessions, and mull over what has been said. Family are usually to close to you to be a great deal of use - they just want to make things better for you, and tend to give advice (which isnt always what you need)
yaes depression and I see fam doc.. and a psycologist every other week .. antidepressants and i also learning to meditate ... i take walks ... and my family doing all of this with me helps alot so now they are all understanding .. good luck to u
Hi i have suffered with depression for years 10 maybe more came off tabs for 11 months but had to go back on them. My answer is no to all your questions my docs i dont see just get a repeat presciption every month. I am very good at hiding my moods so i suppose no one notices really only i seem to know how i am feeling. Its good that you are getting the help you have got because ive had none just pills which is not what i want i would rather talk through my problems, but i guess that costs the nhs more than the pills.
Take care
