Computer addiction/depression? |
So, I have been dx'd in the past with dysthymia, currently not on meds (SSRI's don't make a hell of a large difference for me). I sometimes spend entire weekends on the computer, in an OCD way (I'm sure yahoo answer point chasers can relate). Is there any non-medication way that you have found that has gotten you out of the slump? I get the aftereffects of wasting my life/feeling lonely. Thanks in advance. I'm in the same boat. I'll be watching this question... I discovered something called Meetups. They have all types, like hundreds, in various areas. Look for some near you. You can join them, and even meet other computer addicts who play similar games or have similar interests. They're free or low-cost, like five dollars. Many are in the same boat and a lot has to do with long distances apart of each person in a discussion topic. None the less finding those who are on the same wave length is rewarding. Messaging after Q and A gives some way to meet up. I really am only interested in the topic areas that I want to discuss things. My skills and vocabulary in that area is good now for the new live connections I make. |
