Anti depression medication question....?

I have been on alot of different medication for depression and had no success. I am beginning to wonder if maybe it is not depression. I wonder if my not getting better could mean I did not have depression in the first place.

Hi, conventional antidepression medication only has some effect on around a third of patients, so you may well be depressed but are just part of the majority of people who the pills don't work for.

The good new is that there are many more things that can help with depression other than antidepressant pills.

Take a look at the Self Help pages on the site listed in the sources box below for some ideas on things you could try which will help your depression.

Hope this helps. Source(s): http://www.self-help-mental-health-depre...
I don't think you can really say that. That fact is that many people are simply not helped by (SSRI/SNRI) medications. You should discuss this with your doctor. Try some therapy too (like CBT)

Good luck.
this could be true, but probably not. if you are still feeling bad, your doctors have not found the right combination of meds, or have not been able to determine the casue of your depression. iwent through the same thing and it just takes a while to get on the right meds. if you dont feel your doctor is doing the right things go to another one, thats what i did and it made all the difference
sometimes if several antidepressants dont work it could be because you may have bipolar depression. Do you ever get highs such as racing thoughts euphoria frantic and frenzied action etc? talk to your doctor or it could just be that you havent found the right medication yet
I went through several antidepressants before being discovred as bipolar. I was first diagnosed as depressive but after 4 years of being on different antidepressants and having no luck of getting better and constantly changing then bipolar medications were used and it worked great ever since the right combo was found :)
