How do you stop falling back into depression? |
I've been healthy for some time now : I quit smoking, i quit drinking, i quit doing drugs, but....it's hard to keep on the floatline! I feel kinda lonely because i pushed everybody away from me in the past-especially because one of those person was the person I loved.and now it's hard to start over again without the demons of the past chasing me. i live somewhere else now. but it's just not working for me yet.... How long has it been since you got clean? Give it time. Recovery is a life-long process and sometimes you'll hit bumps along the way. But remember that those bumps are better than the hell you were living as an addict. Do you go to any 12-Step meetings or any ohter meetings where you can talk to like-minded people? You will surely find new friends; and these friends will understand you and be on the same path as you are. You've made some big (positive) changes in your life. Be proud of yourself and be patient. You are starting a whole new life and it takes time to build it. I wish you the best in your journey. try to make for yourself a planning of creative activity's. listen to classical music and give your self the time restore balancing Aha yes the demons. Expectations that fail make you erase the hopes. There is a chemical produced for god knows why that makes depression feelings. So get rid of the demons called expectations. I did all that too. It just takes some time and you should occupy yourself with productive and positive activities. Eventually, you will feel so much healthier and you can actually feel "proud" of yourself! Just know that you are past it and on your way to living a happy and fulfilling life. It will come if you stay on the right track, I know! Feel free to e-mail me! Lived it and made it through! |
