Depression Help???? |
Have suffered depression on and off for as long I can remember. Have tried anti depressants but dont find that they help, GP has referred me for counselling which I was waiting to start, but just wondered if there was anything anyone could recommend as well. Hopefully the counselling will help, it helped me when I had depression - but you may only get offered 6 or 8 sessions. You may have to pay to get long-term counselling. Some other things that may help are; exercise, swimming or jogging or just going for a walk. Keeping a journal of your feelings, that may help you identify patterns in your moods, as well as being quite therapeutic to get your feelings down on paper. Avail yourself of any other support systems you have, e.g. family and friends you can trust. Try cheering your self up find some funny jokes or look at somthing funny just keep trying and I hope you have luck with that. It has been proved that vigorous exercise can help alleviate mild depression as it releases endorphins into the blood which lift mood. are you currently on depressant pills because sometimes when people start them it makes them worse i know i did and the pills i took madee me suicidel because i wasnt depressed enough for them myself Regular excersize, Light therapy, Music therapy have all been shown to be helpful for those suffering depression. Excersize definately works! Depressed for longer than i can remember |
