Does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can do this... what foods can i eat, what should i avoid?? thanks for your help....

Hey sweetie, I've been googling and found these sites, maybe you already found them, maybe not. Here they are:

A list with food you should avoid and food you can eat:
http://www.second-opinions.co.uk/foods.h...

This one has a eat to beat diabetes plan...
http://yourtotalhealth.ivillage.com/eat-...
Look on page 2 to see how much calories you can have per day.

This site has all kinds of info about (pre-)diabetes:
http://www.online-diabetes-information.c...

And exercise...try to walk as much as you can. You also could try, (I don't know if you have the time for it, or like it!!) aerobic (or cardio) exercise. All you need is 20 minutes, 3 times per week, to get results from aerobic exercise. And if you don't have the time, you can even get great results with two 10-minute workouts a day!

I hope this information was helpfull
Goodnight!! xx

There is good evidence that this process and the progression to diabetes can be halted, though not without hard work. It will require a combination of diet, weight loss and regular vigorous exercise.

Exercise ideally must be no less than 30 minutes 5 times a week at moderate intensity.

You need to aim at your ideal weight, as indicated by your BMI.

Your diet needs to be low is simple sugars, glucose sucrose and you need to watch fructose as well, ( There is a tendency to eat too much fruit when on diets, and even worse drink smoothies!) Use vegetables as 2 or 3 of your 5 a day. Concentrate on slow release sources of energy such as starches. The GI diet goes a long way to helping this.

They're aren't really any specific foods you mustn't have. Try to lose weight (this will help you to avoid diabetes), cut back your calorie intake to about 1500 per day, and reduce your fat intake too. When you're at a healthy weight, eat 2000 calories a day, but still avoid sugary foods.
Limit sugary foods like soft drinks, cakes and chocolate to once or twice a week. And exercise, at least 2 days a week for at least half an hour.
There's no one thing that you must avoid. Just cut back on unhealthy foods.

I was diagnosed prediabetic last year ,used Zolid for one month , but with entire life style change I stopped diabetes medication.

My life style change included.
Eating high fiber low calorie diet , avoiding/eliminating sugar starchy foods , eating fresh fryuits and vegetables helped me lot in balancing by blood sugar levels.

Fruits included in my diet list are banana , apple, orange and I used fresh green salad.

Last but most important was the walk I helped me reduce weight and since the inception of being IGT i started to brisk walk regularly and now I walk for about an hour , 2 hours before the bedtime

Hope that you will find it helpful.

just cut out sugar and realise that a can of softdrink has upto 11 spoons of sugar in it.

Also fruit juices are high in natural frutose which is not good. Potato and sweet corn can hold your sugar levels up high to, so eat them at lunch time so you burn it off in the afternoon activities.

some observations are that mosquitoes will love you
generally tired and get the colds and flues all the time.

I have found you have to eat better meals that are well balance just in moderate portions. I stay away from fast food or prepared meals for the store.

Find an aerobic exercise you can enjoy and stick with. Walking for 15 t0 20 minutes for 6 months and then up to an hour. This should be about 4 to 5 days a week. Exercise is important.

Best Wishes.
