I am having pre-diabetes condition yet i took in 1 ice cream and other things, could i have got diabetes? |
I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes but I brought down my blood sugar to normal , yet recently i took in 1 ice cream cone, several seedless grapes, 2 oranges and 2 bananas. Could these eatables have given me diabetes, as I have not yet gone for the tests? I have Type 2 diabetes, the impaired ability of the body to regulate the level of sugar in the bloodstream. Because of my size and lifestyle I was always going to be at risk - very tall, overweight, though not defined as obese. Type 2 diabetes does not happen overnight. It is a progressive condition. It occurs because the body becomes resistant to insulin, the hormone responsible for lowering blood sugars, most typically because of excess body fat. Initially to compensate for this resistance, the body makes more insulin just to keep the blood sugars normal. This puts an enormous amount of strain on the beta cells in the pancreas that make insulin. Eventually the beta cells die, and by the time we get to your condition of pre-diabetes, 50% of the beta cells are dead. It is therefore imperative that if you are overweight, you need to do more exercise, and whilst one ice-cream cone won't push you over the edge, you are already walking a fine line. Lifestyle modification at this point is your best chance to delay the onset of diabetes i don't want to be mean or anything but do u realise pre diabetes is really serious? You DO NOT want to develop diabetes sooner than you have to. By controllong ur blood sugars now u can very much delay the onset of full blown diabetes. If you had them in normal portion amounts you should be OK. Make sure you watch for the signs of high blood sugar...extreme thirst, weight loss, tired all the time. Sugarfree treats do not mean low sugar! They are full of carbs that can make your sugar go up. Consult with a registered dietician. no diabetes doesnt come from what u eatbut it could start from over weight or if it runs in ur fam. but eating candy or sweets wont give it to you but if u have diabetes eating candy and sweets could worsen your sugar levels iam pretty sure youll be fine |
