Diabetes, medical bills etc? |
I have a good friend who's wife is a diabetic. He is in school AND working right now, and she gets sick so often she can not work, so instead she stays home with the baby. They do not have insurance and medical bills pile up QUICKLY leaving them with... well, not a lot. Is there anything that can help out? There are programs that would allow her to get her diabetic supplies at a discount or free, but you usually have to go through a doctor, so have her check with her doctor's office. She can also check the american diabetes association website (www.diabetes.org) and there is information about paying for insurance or diabetes supplies and where to go for help. Or she can call the association and they can get her information on where to get medical care without insurance. Most colleges/grad schools have discounted medical insurance available. Can he apply for this? As for the baby, some states have child-health-insurance available, otherwise a single well-child visit can be VERY expensive. This family may also qualify for medicare. There is a few things like trying out for medical and welfair of course they will pay any past bills up to 6 months sometimes more. Also there is this group called CCS in Ca but there is a grown up one if you conntact me I can let you know. Also I belong to this company that has a plan and offers low cost care for the whole house. I got it mainly for my daughter. But it was better than I thought it saved me hundreds upon hundreds of dollars and can use it across the USA! Tell them to check with the manufacturers of her meds. They often help with the cost of the medication. They can also take her to a free clinic or one that bills according to income. welll u should tell ur friend to call a doctor soon |
