Diabetes and weight loss?

I was told I have type II Diabets. I was told to lose weight. I have exersised and eat lots of vegtables and fruit, cut out most of the processed food I use to eat. Eat Lots of chicken and seafood. My Blood suger still is not in control and I have not lost one pound. this has been about a month. Dr's say I wont lose weight untill my blood surger is under control. Is this true. and I am taking Metforemen.

Good for you and your efforts to acheive good health!

95% percent of Type 2 cases are caused by eating more carbs than you burn. The average (activity and weight-wise) woman needs about 120 carbs a day, men: 180.

America exceeds these requirements and too often by consuming more than a daily requirement of carbs at a meal, three times a day. This is why america is obese. The extra energy (carbs) turns to fat, which contributes to insulin resistance. If your cells cannot accept insulin, then glucose build up in your bloodstream and your blood sugar goes high.

By losing weight and excercising, you increase insulin sensitivity. And losing weight is acheived by eating less carbs.
Start realizing how many carbs you are eating, because that is what makes blood sugar and the number on the scale go up. After you realize how many carbs are in your food, aim for 90 carbs a day if you are a woman. That's 30 carbs a meal.
Eat low carb snack if you get hungry between meals.

Also, the only difference between "good carbs" and "bad carbs" is the amount of other nurtrients (vitamin C, calcium, what have you) that are in those food products. So by cutting out processed foods and increasing more natural foods, you aare providing your body with more nutrients, but unless you cut back on the carbs, you will not lose weight.

I wish the best of luck to you and know that you have the strength that this weight loss journey takes!

Whenever you are trying to lose weight, you should concentrate on these three things which all work together in providing a healthier and quicker weight loss goal for yourself. I have found this combination really successful in my weight loss plans. The first thing is exercising and how much you can put forth into it. The more you exercise, the more results you will see. The next thing is dieting and the calorie intake. If you exercise more, technically you could eat more? Always watch what you eat.

Now the last step in a good weight loss plan is always a good diet pill that can help you get to the end of the road. I have found Proactol which is a natural herbal diet pill to be the best around. It's an appetite suppressant along with being a fat blocker which stops up to 28% of fat you eat. Read up about it at TheWeightLossPlace .com where I saved money on it. Proactol really works well with exercising which gives you plenty of energy to perform. Along with that your diet will be affected by Proactol due to the appetite suppressant and fat blocker. If you slip up on meals, the fat blocker kicks in. It's really great to stop food cravings.

Concentrate on those three things and the combination is deadly for the fat cells in your body. Good luck and I hope this helps.

I have type 2 diabetes too, I always had a voracious appetite and struggled to lose weight. My doctor prescribed me an appetite suppressant and I have lost nearly 3 stone in 4 months. Diabetic nurse reckons appetite was due probably to diabetes I have metformin also and my blood sugar is not too bad. Perhaps your dosage needs to be changed - I would discuss with your health professional.
I have a friend who is also diabetic and is losing weight by controlling carbs in diet.
Good luck
