Diabetes and sexual question? |
This sounds strange but does a guy with type 1 sometimes have sugar passed in sperm? is it a myth that sperm may taste sweet? Also if there is truth to this could the sugar in sperm cause a girl a yeast infection Semen contains sugar as an energy source for sperm. you are rit in that there is sugar in semen...sperm is a sigle cell.but the fluid which is ejaculated is called as semen.it is rich in fructose which is a form of basic sugar..am not sure if it tastes sweet r it may cause yeast infection in women..for more info you can get in this site... While I can not comment on sugar being passed through sperm, I know that it can be passed through urine if the diabetes is not under good control. So far as the yeast goes, he is probably at a higher risk than yourself in that diabetics are more prone to infection and have a much harder time fighting it off. This exact thing happened to my hubby - he got the yeast infection from me and it took quite a while to get it under control. Hope this helps. Sugar in the form of fructose is passed along with the semen because that is what sperm need to metabolize. For reasons that I can't remember from school, they cant metabolize glucose. The Romans used to test for Diabetes by tasting urine to see if it was sweet...........I am not to go any further. |
