Diabetes and Drug Test?

I am currently on insulin and a pill for my diabetes and will have to take a drug test for a new job. I don't do drugs etc. will these diabetic medications interfere with anything? Does it change based on having high or low blood sugar levels?

Robert F !
Tell your employerand pharmacist if you are taking or planning to take any over颅the-counter or prescription medication or dietary supplements while testing for drugs. The following drugs and drug classes may interact with the test to cause questionable results:

Aspirin (large amounts)

Riboflavin

Nalidixic acid (Neg Gram)

Sulfa drugs (eg, sulfonamides)

Nitrofurantoin (eg, Furadantin)

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid)

Phenazopyridine (eg, Pyridium)

You do not have to tell a prospective employer that you have diabetes unless you will need reasonable accomodations to do the job. Unfortunately diabetics are discriminated against in the hiring process because people have the misconception that something is wrong with diabetics and they won't be able to do the job as well as someone without diabetes. Always tell the truth when asked, but don't offer up this information if they don't ask.

No, you shouldn't have any problems with only insulin and a diabetic pill. I am a type 1 diabetic - plus I was in the life insurance biz for years ... we ordered drug tests on all our applicants .... that's not what they're looking for. Now, having said that, there are some OTC (over the counter) drugs that can cause positive results, but tell them everything you're taking and they should be able to identify anything that might show up. But again, as everyone has already said, they're looking for illegal drugs.

Aloe Vera juice has been found to aid in the management of ulcers, Arteries, Diabetes and inflammation and will help with digestion too. Did you notice how I had to word that. I cannot tell much over the internet as it is not approved by the FDA because it is a natural product. if you would like to know more you would have to do a search on aloe its quiet amazing remember that I was the one that turned you on to this solution please. This is a natural products and not a drug so it鈥檚 not approved by the FDA to cure or treat any disease, Aloe Vera studies have been conducted in many countries worldwide. It has been demonstrated to contain antioxidant agents to combat free radicals, be effective for metabolic detoxification, intestinal cleansing, increasing cellular metabolism and direct stimulation of immune system cells for the past 30 years forever living products has been the largest grower processor and distributor of ale vera products in the world. You will have to do a little home work to find out just how merciless what I鈥檓 offering you is. We also have an aloe vera juice called Forever Freedom with MSM & glucosamine for older people. When you鈥檙e ready please go to this site and call us

It shouldn't no, but usually they will ask you what kind of medication you are taking. And if anything comes up positive, you can let them know of your medication, and they will retake it. Other than than that just let them know ahead of time. But... i'm sure it won't come up positive. They're testing for marijuana, coke, meth, heroin etc.

Just let the employer know that you are diabetic and what you take. Things should be nice and clear for them.

Hope this helps.
Bajo.
