Type 1 Diabetes A1-C of 4.9, is this too low?

i last got my A1-C level tested a couple of weeks ago and it was at 4.9. the doctor said that this could be bad because it shows that i probably get low BG too often. However i go below 80 about once every month, and i would say 95% of the time i test i am between 90-100

i am very active (highschool track and ice-hockey) i am 16, weigh 178lbs of muscle, vey little fat, and i am 6'0"

so 4.9 A1-C seems pretty low, but is this bad if i RARELY get low BG?

i use the Animus 20/20 insulin pump with humalog

in a previous post i put my lowest A1-C as 5.2, but then i wasnt sure if that was correct so i looked and it was 4.9, which then made me think of this question. So my other post should say lowest A1-C of 4.9. my bad haha

I would say Avg good BG is between 100-110, 90 is starting to go low..so you gotta fix that A1-C level.

How come 3 minutes before you asked this question your lowest A1c was 5.1?

anything under 4.0 is bad

no that sound just right

wish mine were 4.9...mine is 10.8...too high
