Drugs and Diabetes?

I know someone taking lots of different class A drugs but also suffer from insulin dependent diabetes. How dangerous can this be? Obviously I know that all drugs are dangerous but they cant seem to see the seriousness of it all.

You are right about many prescription drugs out there being dangerous. But there are times when a person has to decide if the danger of NOT taking the drug, outweighs the danger of the drug itself. As you know, many prescription drugs can have a number of side effects., but, a disease, like diabetes can cause blindness, kidney failure, as well as other serious conditions. So, in a situation like this, it may be more important to take your chances with the side effect. For the best advice on drug interaction, and what kinds of mediaction to take, you should ask a professional.

Abstract
Illicit drug use is extremely common amongst young people including many with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Cocaine, heroin and ecstasy appear to most severely affect glycaemic control and the number of emergency hospital admissions and long-term complications. In addition, clinic attendance is much worse in illicit drug users. Some studies suggest that the onset of diabetes may be hastened by regular use but further research is needed. Questioning patients with diabetes regarding illicit drug use and adopting a non-judgemental approach would seem to be appropriate
