Sugar and diabetes?

why do i constantly crave sugar?
i especially crave it at night like right before bed. its wierd and it freaks me out.. i cant sleep without it. i have diabetes and was recently diagnosed with diabetes type 2.

but do you know why i constantly crave it?

Yes, it's because even a little sugar triggers cravings for more. That's the effect sugar has on the appetite. The only way to stop the cravings is to detox. Get off sugar entirely.

This is kinda a question thats hard to answer with the info you gave. Here are my thoughts and questions back.

We can all grave sugar at times, sometimes we grave it just with the idea that we can't have it and we feel lost, the other reason we grave it is because sugar is addictive and you may need to detox yourself from it. I find that if I eat a lot of sugar items and then I stop I have two days of craving it, same with regular old carbs.

Have you tried to not have sugar and suffer through a sleepless night? Or it could be two sleepless nights? At some point your body will stop craving it.

PS a small sugar based food will not kill the diabetic but I would couple it with a protein and have it in the a.m.
