is there a likly chance you have diabetes?

btw; im asking these ? for a friend.

&+ Thanks in Advance.

You most certainly can have type two if you weigh 95 pounds. It is not true that type 2 diabetics are overweight. I weighed 103 when I was diagnosed. If your friend has any family that has diabetes, it can put him/her at a higher risk of developing either type of diabetes.
If left untreated, diabetes can lead to many complications, including kidney disease, heart disease, heart attack, artery disease, stroke, blindness, and other diseases, many of which can cause death.
Symptoms include, (these are symptoms of type 1 AND 2)
Constant thirst
Frequent urination
Constant hunger
Unexplained weight gain OR loss
Blurry vision
Leg cramps
Slow healing wounds
Irritability
Headache
Nausea or vomiting
Reoccurring yeast infection in women, itching penis in men
Frequent boils
Itchy skin but no rash
If your friend is having any symptoms, they should go get tested right away.

Diabetes affect many whether they are young, old obese or not.
Answers to your questions.

1) Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus generally affect those who are above 35 years of age, however there are cases lately of young children having Type 2. To be sure it is advisable to check your blood sugar/glucose level with a meter. A simple test is to check whether there are ants swarming around your urine.

2) Those with type 2 must be treated and care should be taken on your diet, with moderate exercise taking diabetes supplements help too. You may wish to check it how many have been able to prevent diabetes with the right diet or supplements. Failing to take this steps may cause complications to arise such as retinopathy, cardiovascular problems, naturopathy kidney failure etc.

3) The above are serious symptoms of diabetes, your friend should take the necessary step to learn about it and how to overcome. Check out more about diabetes from websites
that helps.

Take care and God Bless

1. Can you have diabetes if you weigh around 95 pounds?
yes....it also depends more if its male or female also

2. Can you die of type 2 diabetes if left untreated? usually it goes to type 1 then....i'm not sure but the possibility is there as your body cant handle all the extra sugar and chemicals put out by your liver and other organs and you get keto-acidosis (sp?) which is a build up of certain acids in your body

3. If you have some of the Symptoms of type 2 diabetes
like.

increased thrist/hungar
blurred vision
frequent trips to the bathroom
is there a likly chance you have diabetes? yup. totally. its coz your body is trying to get rid of the extra sugar. if its not treated there will be complications. (loss of vision, and trouble with your liver and different things like that...not a pretty picture
best of luck

1.)Diabetes doesn't care how much you weigh. There are even small children who suffer from diabetes. They even have summer diabetes camps for kids.
2) You can absolutely die from this disease if it's left untreated. Be proactive about this disease.
3) There are many different possibilities surrounding those symptoms. There a re tests that will determine whether they are related to diabetes. Even simple blood tests.

*Your friend should see a doctor. You're a good friend for asking.

1. Yes, in that case type 1 would be more likely, many type 1 diabetics are thin, though type 2 is not impossible in this case either (and it doesn't always fit neatly into a type 1 or 2 presentation).

2. Yes, even type 2 can be life threatening if not treated, though it is less likely to cause an acute event than type 1. It will however, cause a lot of trouble over time if not well managed.

3. Those are symptoms of diabetes, yes, but they are very nonspecific. If your friend is worried, then just go to your doctor and get his/her fasting blood sugar checked, it's the best way to determine the answer.
