Should Diabetes Feet be Keep Clean ?

Should Diabetes Feet be Keep Clean ? This question was bothering me a lot till i came across an article by Aron Wallad who wrote it at

http://www.readabouthealth.com/diabetes/...

What do u have to say about it.

That is a very good article. It misses a couple of points though. My wife is diabetic , she was diagnosed five years ago when she was 65. She also suffers from Arthirits which creates a problem. She cannot wash and dry or examine her own feet. It then becomes imperative that a family member or nurse takes on the task. In our case that's me, you would be surprised how often she can get a small blister and be completely unaware of it. Makes you grateful for your own good health.

Diabetes (high sugar) is a bad disease. Long term effect of diabetes are many, such as renal failure, loss of eye side (retinal damage) and gangrene (due to obstruction of blood supply and multiple infections etc.

Yes, we should keep our feet clean to prevent infection.

I think everyone should keep their feet clean.

Like the article says, it's more important for diabetics to pay attention to their feet. The possible nerve damage plus poor circulation is what leads to amputations.

yes their feet must be kept clean and always checked to make sure that there are no sores on them as they tend to have poor circulation in their feet

yes, I have Diabetes and i keep a close watch on my feet ,
