Diabetes? Possibly?

I've been craving orange juice and salt.

I licked the salt off of a half a bag of corn chips, just for the salt. I was very close to just going downstairs and pouring the contents of the salt shaker down my throat. I only kept myself from drinking a half gallon of orange juice at one time because we ran out, and I've been dizzy and nauseous for a while now, with:

Fitful sleeping
Night sweats
Shaking
Memory loss
Motor skill problems
Hot sweaty and light headed feeling

I eat right, I exercise so my heart is healthy, but now I've also been PEEING a lot lately, as in "Increased urination."

Salt craving can occur due to dehydration. It can also be due to a medical condition called Addison's disease 鈥?especially if the salt craving is new, persistent and excessive. Other signs and symptoms of Addison's disease include muscle weakness, fatigue, weight loss and low blood pressure.

Your salt cravings should be evaluated by a doctor.

These could be symptoms of diabetes, as well as dehydration and a few other things. Have someone smell your breath (yes, I'm serious). If they think it is an acidy sickly sweet smell, you're probably ketoacidotic, which is a serious symptom of diabetes. Switch to water to drink from the orange juice, and if you get up to pee more than 2 times in the night, I'd run to the doctor. Good luck, diabetes is a rough disease.
