DIABETES all types?

I have been feeling somewhat out of sorts lately and increasingly so in the last 3-4 weeks. I can't seem to quench my thirst no matter how much water I drink I am still thirsty and have a dry mouth. Also I am experiencing blurry vision and constant fatigue. I recently spoke with NHS Direct people who passed me onto a doctor. I went through my symptoms and she has recommended that I get tested for diabetes. My grandfather is diabetic and tested my blood sugar level which registered at 4.6 even though I have not eaten anything in the last 8 hours (purposefully to see what level it would be) which is pretty normal I'm told.
I have done various searching on the internet but I can't seem to find anything that might match my symptoms without being Diabetes? Any doctors out there or anyone that has the knowledge who could point me in the right direction?
Thanks

I have been to the doctors today and he tested my blood sugar level and it was 4.8 so it is still normal. They have said that I am not diabetic but I am still baffled.

My mother had those exact same symptoms over 13 years ago, and she was diagnosed with diabetes. If she didn't see her doctor when she did, he advised that she would have ended up going into diabetic shock and possibly into a diabetic coma. If I where you, I would get tested soon. The sooner you get tested, the sooner you can start controlling it. And a 4.6 is extremely low, the normal range for your blood sugar level is 70-120. Anything below 70 is way to low. Consult your doctor soon and advise him of your situation.

Is it possible too much simple sugars? Change up your diet to no sugar, heavy fruits and veggies for 4-6 weeks, takes that long for adaptation. As in insulin.
