Diabetes, Upset Stomach and 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D3?

My friend is prediabetic and suffering from severe stomach problems(not on any medication diet and exercise), sometimes loose motions diarrhea like situation and sometimes contipation. He went to his endicronologist and he advised him to perform 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D3 test.
The result was 4.96 ng/ml
He has the vitamin D deficiency.
His doctor has now advised him Injection Indrop 1 ampule orally once every 15 days or 3 months and a Tablet Alpha-D 0.5 mg daily in the morning for 20 days.

How is his stomach situation related to vitamin D deficiency.

Here are the reference ranges on his report for others members help and advise
Vitamin D Deficiency <20
Vitamin D Insufficiency 21-29
Vitamin D Sufficiency >30
Vitamin D Intoxication >150

Experts advice on this issue will be extremely appreciated

I'm not familiar with the vitamin D test, although I'm quite familiar with the fact that most Americans are deficient in vitamin D. I'm sorry I don't know more about this, but I can tell you about the role of nutrients in conjunction with daily outdoor activities and how important they are in keeping us type twos healthy. Here's an article by a health expert I was recently introduced to by a friend and fellow natural healing expert: http://www.naturalnews.com/003069.html
