Diabetes pee test?

i took a diabetes pee test they said there is no glucose.
but they still did blood work. i have not got the results back yet. but if i am diabetic why wouldn't glucose show up in my pee test? and if there is glucose in your pee why would it be there?

As you know, your kidneys filter your blood, producing waste that comes out in the urine. Usually, the kidneys filter the blood in such a way that all the glucose is returned to the blood stream. When the level of glucose in the blood gets too high though it overwhelms the kidneys' ability to recapture that glucose, causing some of it to "spill over", so to speak" into the urine.

Sometimes people can have more mild cases of diabetes or be in a "pre-diabetic" state where their glucose is higher than recommended but not quite at the level that would cause glucose to show up in the urine. Blood tests are the only way to determine whether this is the case and are the best bet in catching the illness early so that relatively easy interventions, like diet and exercise, can be tried prior to meds/insulin.

your sugar wasent high enough. only very high sugar leves (above 170 i think) will spill over into the kidneys and be excreted in the urine. its really not a very good way to test for the disease.
