Type 1 diabetes, formerly called juvenile-onset or insulin-dependent diabetes, is an autoimmune disease. This means that the body produces antibodies that attack and damage its own cells. It usually appears suddenly, with symptoms like excessive thirst and urination. sad to say it can =[ i have been type one diabetic for almost 10 yrs now(im turning 14 soon) Yes, it defenitly can!
