Difference between diabetes and hypoglycemia (spelling?)?

???

Diabetes has to do with high blood sugar. Hypoglycemia is the fancy word for low blood sugar. Hypoglycemia itself is considered a medical condition...its not just something a diabetic has once in a while

Diabetes is a disorder that causes the body to not respond correctly to insulin or can cause the body to not produce enough insulin. It results in high blood sugar levels. Hypoglycemia is when the blood sugar drops too low. It can be seen in diabetics when they take too much insulin-sensitizing medications or if they inject too much insulin. Hypoglycemia can happen with other disorder besides diabetes also. And sometimes it just happens occasionally to some people (when someone doesn鈥檛 eat for a long time for example).

Diabetes (Type II anyway) is the body not being able to respond correctly to insulin. Hypoglycemia, (aka low blood sugar) occurs when your blood glucose (blood sugar) level drops too low to provide enough energy for your body's activities.

Also, type 2 diabetes technically is not a disease. Meaning you cannot contract diabetes. It is just a indication of advanced aging. In fact, everyone of us if we lived long enough would develop type 2 diabetes...

Diabetes is a disease..Hypoglycemia is 'low blood sugar' and can occur with other diseases as well..it is a symptom..not a malady.
