Prediabetes can take a long time to transform, finally as diabetes. It has been generally observed that, prediabetes will eventually convert to diabetes but at the same time there are greater possibilities to revert back to normal, if taken care seriously. People suffering from prediabetes may show same symptoms as in diabetes but, they will be erupting occasionally like:
Excessive thirst
Tingling sensations in feet and fingers
Excess Hunger
Frequent Urination
Irritability
Frequent infections
Blurred vision
Skin itching
People - In Risk Zone : Some individual are at more risk of prediabetes than others due to presence of these factors -
Being overweight
Family history of prediabetes
Waist hip ratio - The person with 'fat tire'
Depression and stress
Causes: Prediabetic is a person who is suffering from little high sugar than normal patients. The reason behind high sugar is entry of glucose into the blood cells due to disturbance in the mechanism of insulin. Thus sugar is circulating in the blood stream but unable to penetrate into cells and tissue, to produce energy. The exact reason of this is uncertain but it is considered that overweight and fatty tissues along with sedentary lifestyle are the correlating factors.

It's certainly possible. Other symptoms can be peeing alot, sweet-smelling urine, constant hunger, slow-healing cuts and bruises, and being excessively tired. You should go see a doctor about it. If you can't afford one, go out and buy a simple $10 glucose meter from wal-mart and some test strips. You can get a box of 20 for about $10, too. The kit should come with a little back of lancets, the pen, a log book, and the meter, although you should probably get lancets. they're about 5 bucks for a box of 100. Keep an eye on your sugar levels by testing before meals, and about 2 hours after finishing, before bed, and whenever you notice any of the symptoms. This means breakfast, lunch and dinner. When you get up, or your before breakfast levels (called fasting levels), they should be under 100. 100-125 is elevated and you may be pre-diabetic, and over 125 is excessive. After meals should be no higher than 125, or between 125-150 for pre-diabetics. If you ever have sugars over 200 at any time, chances are you're diabetic. Go see your doctor about getting a Glucose Tolerance Test and a hemoglobin A1c done. Your doctor is the only one who can tell you whether or not you are diabetic. If your levels do seem elevated, control the amount of sugar and carbs you eat in your diet until you can see a doctor. Carbs are simple. 15g equals 1 carb, and you should have no more than 15 carbs, or 285g, i think. that's 5 carbs per meal. Meat and veggies are "free foods" and don't count towards these limits. Fruits are simple sugars, and can be eaten in moderation. Beans, breads, and any starchy foods are high in carbs and can shoot sugars through the roof. As i said, though, go see your doctor. He's the only one who knows for sure, and don't be afraid to ask questions. It can be controlled through diet and exercise :) Good luck to you!

At your age, if you had diabetes, you could have Type I diabetes, which is completely different from Type II diabetes which most of the posters are alluding to. I'm not saying you have diabetes at all, but with your symptoms it is possible.

Have you had a recent viral type illness?

Regardless, you should go to the doctor and get checked.

You could. Then again, you could not. I could, too... The best thing to do is to contact your doctor, or school nurse. They'll need to do some tests on you (blood tests), which none of us on this forum can do to tell you if you have it or not.

If you live in the US, in a large city, and you've made it to 14 without anyone telling you that you have diabetes, you more than likely don't... But it wouldn't hurt if you give these symptoms to someone who can order the proper blood tests to figure out what is wrong.

Nausea and lower abdominal pain is NOT a symptom of diabetes.

Fuzzy mind goes with being 14! I have one of those in my house at this moment!

Dry mouth is a symptom of lots of things.

If you are really worried about this talk to your mother!! She is the one who will have to make the appointment for you. She does NOT bite either!! Most mothers will do anything for their children. Especially concerning their health.

So just go talk to her!!

hi you
even doe been thirsty and getting a blured vision can be linked with diabetes but its the nausea and adomen pain makes me think its something else here i would go to your doctor and have the cause of that checked and to be on the safe side you can get checked for diabetes to

I am not sure about your a diabetic on these symptoms Lot of people who have these symptoms are not diabetics
Diabetics normally do not have symptoms of abdominal cramps and nausea unless it a very late signs
I hope this will help

consult your doctor no good humming about it, those symptoms could be the cause of a lot of things not just diabetes, you need a medical check.

you may be pregnant, but here you go. http://diabetes.webmd.com/guide/type-2-d...
