I have gestational diabetes.... they gave me a carb count.... But Can i have sugar free stuff and no effect my |
blood sugar, or do the carbs in those items count..... All carbs count. I have Reactive Hypoglycemia. (low blood sugar) Eat healthy and consult your doctor on all questions. You will probably deliver early and may have a large baby, so what you take in is important because you need to make sure you are providing best nutrition to your child in case you do deliver early. Yes, sorry to say carbs are carbs.Being pregnant i suppose you get hungry often, so I will give you what they call free foods. Thats food with less than 5% carbs. Read the labels..Sugar is not what effects diabetes, it is the carbs as you were told. some time the taste of sugar(sweet) stimulate your thyroid cells to increase the blood sugar level in your body. you may visit this site for more information on this issue The carbs in those items also count you need to discuss this with your diabetic educator if you do not fully understand.....that is what their job is. |
