Does Vitamin D help in any way people with diabetes?

Does Vitamin D help in any way people with diabetes?

Both calcium and vitamin D are found in dairy products. Calcium helps to prevent becoming overweight, high blood pressure, and heart disease. Vitamin D has been shown to improve the body's ability to use insulin and the function of 飦?cells, which produce insulin; a lack of vitamin D in the body has been shown to lead to higher chances of getting type 2 diabetes. Despite these findings, however, there is not enough evidence to prove that dairy, and calcium and vitamin D in particular, can help prevent the metabolic syndrome.

Vitamin D and Diabetes
In a recent study published by Diabetes and Diabetes Prevention, people with high blood levels of Vitamin D were associated with having a lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Fortified milk and cereal, eggs, cheese, and fatty fishes like salmon, mackerel, tuna, cod, herring, and sardines are all good food sources of Vitamin D. Alternately, your body can make enough Vitamin D if you get 10-15 minutes of sun exposure 2-3 times a week.

I don't know that it helps with diabetes, but I do know if everyone doesn't get some during each day they won't be very healthy.
