I have type 2 diabetes. Will eating products made with white flour make it harder for me to lose weight?

Eating products made with carbs will make it hard (almost impossible) to lose weight.

Carbs are what get stored as fat. Go to

Hello my friend,
Absolutely. Any type of flour will make your blood sugar increase. Whole grain is OK for people with out diabetes. It is not OK for us.

There is a great book called Dr. Bastien's Diabetes Solution. This book has been a life saver for me.

Dr. Bernstein has been a type l diabetic since he was around 9 or 10. He is now over 70 years old and is actively practicing medicine.

He found out how to control his blood sugar and became a doctor at the age of around 45.

When he was first diagnosed, his life expectancy was less than 40 years of age.

Even though he is a type l diabetic, the covers both type l & ll
diabetes in his book.

He even has a cook book now, with delicious recipes, that are easy to prepare.

Keep in mind that anything that turns in to sugar in your system will affect your blood sugar.

I hope this helps.

not neccisarily. its more refined so doesnt take as long to be broken down into energy or sugar for the body and therefore doesnt keep your BSL at a steady level. causing it to go up and down a bit faster than things made on brown or mutli grain flour. opt for low GI foods

have a look at

White flour isn't necessarily "bad" for you, it just really contains little to no nutritional value. Look for whole grains and fiber to fill you up (and clean you out)-not processed foods. :]

I think that it does, overall, and is definitely less nutritious for you. Try whole-grain breads, rices, and pastas.

Yes, its harder for anyone to lose weight when they have white flour foods as it has more calories. You could replace them with brown bread, whole grain foods and pulses.

yes.. flour has a lot of carbs, especially white because there is little fiber if it has any. Carbs raise your blood sugar. It will make it harder to lose weight.

no it will give you cancer its true that is if you eat it alot

you oughtta for your own health stay away from white flour and i'm sure that avoidance can only help you lose weight..
