My doctor prescribed me with metformin, but i dont have diabetes?

what will the metformin will do to my body? im taking 250 mg a day

I work for big pharma.(drug companies) It is very common for doctors to prescribe medicines for ailments that the medical is not marketed for. Viagra is the latest example. It is marketed for ED but its uses included heart disease, high blood pressure near the lungs, and mountain sickness.

It would be wise to call your doctor and ask them why you have the metformin.

Metformin side effects

hallo...you must ask to your doctor!! if you don have diabetes maybe you are people with high risk diabetes cause hystory family maybe or try to check your blood glucose. it could be your doctor give metformin to prevention

Metformin is also used in the early stage of diabetes, which is called pre-diabetes. It can also be used to treat fertility problems and PCOS. Ask your doctor why you were prescribed it, he's really the only one that can answer this question.

My Dr keeps trying to prescribe me with metformin too but I keep saying no thanks! He says cos I have PCOS & am insulin resistant that it'll help maintain my weight but I'd rather do that the old fashioned way with good old exercise & watch what I eat :)

did the doctor tell you why he prescribed it to you? He wouldn't have given it to you for no reason.
