Is a gradual onset of type 1 diabetes symptoms possible?

Is a gradual onset of type 1 diabetes symptoms possible?

i guess so how gradual?r u shur its diabetes? i'd contact a doctor instead of asking normal people it could b seroius

Sort of. You do not "gradually" get diabetes, but there is something called a honeymoon period. That is a period of time after you are diagnosed where you need less insulin than usual because your body may still be producing a very small amount of insulin. Then after a few months you have to increase your insulin dosage.

My little brother is a type 1 Diabetic, and the symptoms of the onset are as follows:

Frequent urination, tiredness, fruity smelling breath or urine, weight loss, hunger, thirst and intolerence of bright light.

You should probably contact a doctor, but the post about the Aunt losing her leg is someone who knows nothing about the disease. It takes YEARS of poor treatment to risk loss of a limb.

Also, type 1 diabetes is NOT rare, it is simply less prevalant in adults than type 2. I.E., type 1 is called Juvenile Onset, and type 2 is called Adult Onset.

I hope you find this helpful!

yeah, but very rare. usually most people are type II diabetic.
