Do I still have type 2 diabetes if blood sugar is 88 to 108?

Lost 16 lbs. & am on prednisone, for polymyalgia rhuematica

Once you have it, you will always have it. It's really hard to get rid of. Trust me, I've tried everything. Despite my ability to control my glucose with diet and exercise alone, if I wander off my diet too far, my sugar starts rising again. That's Nature's warning to stick with nutrient rich foods and avoid junk food while staying active enough to keep the weight down. Otherwise, it will sneak up and bite you from behind.

Is it always between 88 and 108?
You can control type 2 diabetes with diet and exercise alone and that is probably what you've done. Losing weight can also lower blood glucose levels. You still have it, it's under control now.
Be very careful while you're on the prednisone, it can raise blood sugar. Make sure you're testing several times a day as you did when your BG was higher.

Yes you can still be diabetic even if you seem to have gain control over it. You numbers are close to mine, but if I get lazy higher numbers return quickly.

So, with an occasional reminder I stick to my discipline. In the long run it's for my own good. But, I am what I am. Diabetic and otherwise health for following a improved life style.

Best Wishes.

Congrats on these numbers! I have a husband that would love those numbers. Losing 16 lbs and being on prednisone? That's awesome - prednisone will pack on some pounds, but it's a small price to pay for the benefits when necessary. Good luck.

There is no cure for diabetes, but the readings you are getting are within the normal range, whatever you are doing is right, stick with it.

yes you still have diabetes it just under control an the weight loss helped a lot
